I have had the good fortune to meet Adrian Bruce a number of times at various conferences over the past few years.

Adrian Bruce is a multi award winning educator and ‘edu-blogger’ who maintains the website adrianbruce.com. His site gives away around 100 000 educational resources a month to teachers all over the world and his blog currently has 33 000 subscribers. Adrian is considered by many to be an exemplary user of Information and Communication Technologies in the modern classroom and is a highly sought after presenter.

Adrian's forte is giving teachers an understanding of the variety and power of freely available educational software and web tools.  Intermeshed within the exploration of tools and resources are demonstrations and experimentation with a variety of processes that work well in classrooms to integrate ICT into the curriculum in highly creative and engaging ways.

We have decided to team up and run a couple of one-day workshops while we are both in Sydney on ICT Integration in the Classroom. The workshops will be run on the 13th of August at the beautiful Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart in Sydney. Each participant will spend half a day with Adrian and half a day with DrJim. The workshops are hands-on, minds-on and have been designed for educators across all learning areas and phases of development.

DrJim's workshop will cover digital storytelling, and free tools for Web 2.0.
The read/write web is full of cool tools that are free and easy to use. For example, Google have a whole suite of web-embedded tools that have fantastic applications in the classroom. Not only are they free, but they enable creation, collaboration and sharing of information and resources in ways we haven’t seen before. Other tools let us experience the power of digital storytelling using multimedia applications that are powerful, simple and free.

Adrian’s workshop will cover all the skills required for blogging, podcasting, create digital artworks and exploring CAD (computer aided
design) with children. Course participants will leave this session with a plethora of great teaching ideas in their tool-box, an incredible amount of inspiration and realistic goals to implement back in their schools and in their classrooms.

The cost of the workshop is $250 (plus GST) and includes registration, sole use of a computer in all sessions, Morning Tea, Lunch, a comprehensive handout and a complimentary 1 Gb USB Flash drive loaded with useful Web 2.0 resources, activities and ideas. Places are limited, so be sure to register your interest early.

If you would like to register your interest for this workshop, please use the booking form, which you will find below.

You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours.
