DrJim's Blog 2.0
I had a Blog a couple of years ago, but found it difficult to maintain the momentum as I felt a bit of a lone voice in the wilderness. However, things have certainly changed as now it's probably fair to say that having a Blog is an essential tool for any 21st Century educator. The sense of community it generates is truly transformational.
Workshops
I have been working on a series of new workshops specifically designed around Web 2.0 technologies. They take the best of the tools currently available and show how they can used in ways that can truly transform learning. Collaboration, creativity and constructivism - making your own learning and your own meaning. See how tools like mashups can help you find your way in the Read/Write Web.
New Web 2.0 workshops for Term Two.
Wednesday 7th May 2008
Wednesday 21st May 2008
This workshop is aimed at upper primary and high school teachers who know about how the Web works but are looking for specific strategies to help them use these tools in the classroom. The focus is on pedagogy rather than technology, but the workshop is hands on, using the tools to build meaningful curriculum.
Tuesday 27th May 2008
Special Focus on teachers who are beginning their Web 2.0 journeys. This workshop has the same content as the other Web 2.0 tools workshops but is aimed at at teachers with little or no experience of Web 2.0 applications. It is a more relaxed atmosphere where people can move at their own pace with as much support as they need.

Cyberbullying Workshops
One of the hottest topics at the moment is the threat of cyber-bullying. But how much is real and how much is media hype? What strategies can we give kids to help them deal with the consequences of cyber-bullying? I now have a range of workshops for students, teachers and parents on how to deal with the threat of the digital menace. For more details, have a look at the workshops page.
